Describe your wedding day in 3 words.

Merry, bright, and black & white.

Describe your wedding day in more detail.

Our main goal for our wedding was to have FUN! Step 1 was to make the day and lead up as stress-free as possible. We had a long engagement ( a little over a year and a half) and we assembled a kick ass team of vendors we knew we could trust 100%. Step 2 was to create memorable experiences. We had an amazing officiant who captured us perfectly, delicious food served reception style to encourage lots of movement & mingling, Side One bringing the energy to the dance party, and a bonus fireworks display from the Celebration of Light. We also asked all our guests to wear black and white to create a fun themed atmosphere. Step 3 was to surround ourselves with all our favourite people and live out our perfect day!

Tell us about something your wedding just HAD TO have.

Excellent food, drinks, music, and company.

Tell us about something you could have done without or wasn’t necessary in the end.

We weren’t about traditions like a bouquet toss, garter toss, something old/new/borrowed/blue, or a 3 tier cake. We didn’t feel tied to follow every “rule”, but picked and chose the ones that made sense and fit with us.

Tell us about your bridal style.

In picking my dress, my vision was an evening gown that happened to be white. I initially wanted a simple, modern, sleek gown. However when I tried them on, I didn’t quite feel that WOW! I then discovered Karen Willis Holmes, and decided a little extra glitz never hurt nobody. And that way I would match the fireworks later in the evening 😉

What’s your advice for future brides?

Think back to your cousin or friend’s wedding last year. What did the centrepiece on the table look like? Can’t remember? Exactly! Beautiful details are fun, but don’t sweat the small stuff. What people will remember from your wedding will be how they felt. Focus on creating atmosphere, excellent food & drink, heartfelt moments, and a crazy fun dance party!
